Barbara Miller's love of art has always been a part of her life and she can't resist collecting pieces by an eclectic group of artists. After retiring in 1999 Barbara finally had time to try her hand at painting and discovered it was "music for her soul." She credits her success to studying with some of the finest artists in the San Diego area - and she continues to do so. Barbara enjoys a variety of mediums and subject matter. She and husband Ken travel worldwide, taking numerous photos that are invaluable in Barbara's artistic aspirations. With her broad range of interests Miller sees the world as it might appear on her canvas. She is constantly searching for "The Masterpiece". Miller participates in the Art Walk, San Diego County Fair, Rancho Santa Fe Art Fair, and Autumn Fine Arts Show in Ramona, as well as gallery exhibits at several art associations. She was one of the "umbrella artists" whose works were auctioned by KPBS in conjunction with the 2005 Art Walk. Barbara has donated pieces of her art to various organizations to assist in their efforts to raise money for deserving causes. Barbara's paintings are in private collections from Hawaii to the Midwest. Miller's studio is in her home in Escondido, California where she resides with her biggest fan - husband Ken, and their two dogs, Chloe and Duffy. She is the proud mother of a daughter and two sons and one horse-loving granddaughter.
