Creating photo-realistic art as seen through a romanticized soft focus lens, Master Painter Glenn Francis invites you to journey with him along the coast of California, and through the tropics of Central America. A native Californian currently residing and painting in Costa Rica, Glenn Francis is bringing the beauty of his latest tropical work to the public eye for the first time. Glenn Francis has been producing a substantial body of amazing work since the early 1970s, and has poured enormous amounts of time and energy into creating classical masterpieces that reflect the timelessness, sincerity, passion and purity of his soul.
Inspired by static moments in nature that speak of the eternal essence of time and place; Glenn Francis’ paintings evoke an understanding of the power, scale, and spirituality of Nature, while awakening his audience to the humbleness and awe that is experienced upon confronting Nature in all her splendor.
Glenn Francis began a love affair with nature as a young boy growing up in a coastal community. The majority of Glenn Francis’ representational works are derivatives of this beautiful ongoing relationship with the ocean, and a surfing lifestyle that incorporates wide-open spaces, the grand scales of Nature, and a love of the water. Though Master Painter Glenn Francis has the ability and gift to paint any subject matter with ease, he chooses to concentrate on people and scenes of Nature that speak to the wonderment of creation. This focus allows Glenn Francis to bring to the canvas a dynamic interactive perfection, meticulously represented and consciously felt within every single brush stroke.
Artist’s Statement:
“The act and process of painting makes me feel alive. The concentration required to create a piece stops all time. Upon completion, I feel I have a communication with the painting and the painting contains an essence of myself. This is the fulfillment that I seek. The choices of what I paint are essentially classic moments in place & time…ageless & unchanging. Each painting encapsulates a special moment in time, and holds more memories in suspension than any photograph. The journey of creating requires that I learn about myself with each and every painting. I remember who I am when I paint, because it takes me to that special place within. I want every person who sees my work to be taken to that place, and to be able to experience what I feel in my heart.”
