                Jamie Hayes, born May 16th in Greencastle, Indiana, is a professional artist and children's book author. After growing up in Graz, Austria, he spent many years traveling the world as an artist and singer-songwriter. He has lived in Holland, Mexico, Morocco, Indonesia, and China, winding up back in New Orleans, Louisiana.

                Amazingly, Jamie is extremely color-blind! The hair on his whimsical characters are small circles which represent color-blind tests, and the "shells" on their cheeks are actually ammonites - fossilized seashells (did we mention that Jamie is a mineralized fossil expert?). Jamie's first book, The Legendary Adventures of the Flying Mingling Brothers, brings many of his characters to life, including the Blimp Pilots and Peter the Pianoeater.

                Collectors of Jamie's art include: Robin Williams, Yoko Ono, Billy Joel, Nick Nolte, Muhammed Ali, John Nelson, B.B. King, Michael McDonald, Whoopi Goldberg, Hank Williams Jr., k.d. Lang, the late Frank Sinatra, Sonny Bono, Fred Rodgers, and the former Panamanian Dictator, General Manuel Antonio Noriega.
